An appointment must be made at least 24 hours in advance. If patrons are 30 minutes late for their appointment, their time will be forfeited to the next patron. For appointments call the number above.

Tips for Better Slides

1. Set the aperture on f5.6 and adjust the shutter speed according to the film. For ASA 160: 1/60 sec; For ASA 64: 1/30 sec. Use a cable release.

2. Make the original as flat as possible (take care not to damage the books). Line up a side of the original with a side of the viewfinder.

3. Use black paper to mask and place a piece of black paper under the page to prevent text showing through the image.

Film

Patrons must bring their materials ready to be photographed and their own tungsten film (ASA 64 or 160).

Ektachrome film is recommended if the slides need to be developed in less than three days. For glossy originals patrons should bring their own non-glare glass.
