Faculty Orientation Guide

Library Liaisons

Each department on campus is represented in the library by one of our librarians. Library liaisons work with faculty to make the most of library services including providing library instruction sessions for specific courses, developing collections and resources appropriate for your teaching and research, and by guiding you through the services the library provides. See our list of Department Liaisons.

Suggest a Purchase

If you have a suggestion for a book the library should purchase, you can contact library selectors using the Suggest a Purchase form or contact your library liaison.

Course Reserves and E-Reserves

Are there specific books, articles, or other materials that you want all of your students to consult? We can provide your students with easy access to these resources by putting them on reserve for you. See our Course Reserves page.  For information about reserving films and videos, visit the Visual and Multimedia Resources Page.

Library Tours & Instruction

Librarians can help your students learn the best ways to find and evaluate information by providing library instruction tailored to your course. Librarians can create custom-designed sessions to help your students learn about specific resources and research strategies. Request an instruction session or library tour using our Library Instruction Request Form.

Access to Online Databases

You can use the online databases on campus and at home. To access the Library's subscription databases when you are off-campus, you will automatically be asked to log in to the Pratt EZProxy Server using your Pratt One Key User ID and password.  See the Articles & Databases page for access to our online databases.

Interlibrary Loan

Need books, articles, or other materials that our library lacks? Just submit an interlibrary loan request for what you need, and we will obtain the material from another library for you. See our Interlibrary Loan page for more information.
